Penetration Analysis of Drag Embedment Anchors in Soft Clays

When designing drag embedment anchors (fluke and plate anchorrntypes) for a specific application in soft clays, the anchor design isrngenerally based on a design profile of the encountered soil conditions.rnSuch a design profile tends to filter out the local variations encounteredrnin the shear strength of the soil. This paper will present the results of anrnanalysis that has been performed on the effect of the local variations ofrnthe shear strength on the installation behaviour of drag embedmentrnanchors.
