In the present work some numerical simulations and experiments, carriedrnout in order to investigate jet-wall interaction in shallow-water, arerndescribed and discussed. Basically, the aim is related to environmentalrneffects of marine structures, e.g. the modifications of the hydrodynamicrnfield due to the interaction of river run-off with a shallow coastal waterrnbody, in the presence of marine structures. Stratification effects are neglectedrnand the interest is focused on barotropic features, e. g. the interactionsrnbetween the flow from the river and harbor structures. The numericalrnanalysis was carried out by the classical depth averagedrnshallow water equations and the numerical solution of the discreternproblem was achieved by a finite difference method. The experimentsrnwere performed in a shallow water tank, obtaining the flow field byrnPIV. The results point out the importance of Coanda effect in thisrnframework. The comparison between numerical solutions and experimentalrndata shows a meaningful agreement.
