The high temperature gas-cooled reactor (HTGR) gas turbine cycle is a new concept inrnthe field of nuclear power. It combines two technologies of HTGR and gas turbine cycle,rnwhich represent the state-of-the-art technologies of nuclear power and fossil fuelrngeneration respectively. This approach is expected to improve safety and economy ofrnnuclear power plant significantly. Therefore it is a potential scheme with competitiveness.rnThe heat-recuperated cycle is the mainstream of gas turbine cycle, and the combinedrncycle is the new approach. For the two cycles, this paper analyzes the thermodynamicrncycles to show the effects of various parameters on the cycle efficiencies and obtains thernrespective optimal schemes. For example, when the core outlet temperature is 900℃, thernefficiency of the HTGR heat-recuperated cycle will be 48.7%, and that of the HTGRrncombined cycle will be 48.1%. Then, the parameters of the turbomachine andrnconfiguration are given. As the conclusion, the HTGR gas turbine cycle can exert therntechnical potential of the HTGR and meet the need of the HTGR power plant in thernfuture.
