NavStrike~(TM) Rockwell’s New Generation GPS Receiver for Precision Guided Munitions Applications

Rockwell Collins has leveraged its position as a primaryrnmilitary Global Positioning System (GPS) supplier byrndeveloping a new, low cost version of a SelectivernAvailability & Anti-Spoofing Module (SAASM) for usernin multiple applications. The Rockwell Collins SAASMrnhas been designed as a common module that can be usedrnto support all internal SAASM applications. Itsrnarchitecture provides an advanced set of core functionsrnwhile at the same time supporting easy integration intornvarious applications. This paper presents the architecture,rnfeatures, and status of the Rockwell Collins SAASM andrndescribes an application that incorporates this module,rnspecifically, the NavStrikeTM receiver.rnThe NavStrikeTM is a very small, high A/J, high G, fastrnDirect Y-code (DY), receiver specifically designed forrnPrecision Guided Munitions (PGM) applications.rnThrough the use of a proprietary technique, this receiverrnprovides unclassified GPS measurement data for use inrntightly coupled integrations. Position Velocity and Timern(PVT) outputs are also available. This SAASM basedrnreceiver takes advantage of the many features providedrnby the core SAASM module including black key and fastrnacquisition support. NavStrikeTM uses special featuresrnsuch as a high-speed serial interface, a unique frequencyrnstandard and a clock calibration mode to perform fast DYrnacquisitions after up to 20 years of storage.
