Hydroxyapatite (HA) -granule-implanted titanium alloy composite were obtained by a superplastical deformation in a ceramic die, which was fixed HA granules on its curved inner surface by polyvinyl alcohol (PVA). PVA films with HA granules are made on horizontal glass surface. By fixing the film on die's inner surface HA granules could be pressed into all curved surface of titanium alloy. When the distances is about 10 mum or over, the granules are mechanically held by titanium alloy. The HA-granule-implanted titanium alloy composites are expected to be useful as biomaterials, such as dental roots.
