The paper describes the manufacture and evaluation of a silver/silver chloride reference electrode and the stability in time of its relative potential. The electrode is based on a 99.99% pure silver subjected an electrochemical anodisation procedure in a saturated KCl using a platinum cathode. The potential stability of the manufactured electrode was assessed with respect to a commercially available saturated calomel electrode using a computerised data acquisition system (ADC-100 PicoLog). The electrode was proven fairly stable for more than 70 days within 1.6mV (less than 0.8%).
