Characterisation of Portuguese Organizations regarding Investment in Information and Communication Technologies -Application of Multivariate Data Analysis Techniques

摘要

The objective of this paper is to analyse the behaviour of Portuguese firms in 2002 with regard to their investments in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). Using univariate and multivariate exploratory analysis techniques, we intend to define the profile of Portuguese firms in terms of their use of ICT. This allows us to classify the organizations in 5 major groups; the variables that most distinguish the groups are: firm size, technological capacity and ICT investment.
