摘要

In summary, the Ground Penetrating Radar allows characterizing and locating of structural heterogeneities in refractory blocks. It was then found that ground penetrating radar (GPR), using a 1.6 GHz center frequency antenna, is useful for locating voids in the ceramic blocks and further to estimate the volume for such voids. Comparison with the classical use of ultrasonic measurements was made in order to show the improvement brought by ground penetrating radar in term of results quality and time of survey.
