摘要

This paper deals with the problem of optimum seat allocation of aircraft capacity forrnthe schedule carriers servicing tourist destinations. The proposed formulationrnframework based on probability density functions of demand adopting at least 3rndistinguishes booking sub-periods which it is suitable to applications related torntourism industry. Main target is to present an easy to handle modelling frameworkrnsuitable to real world applications which it could be using to support decisions aboutrnthe optimum allocation of available seat (capacity) and ticket fares during eachrnbooking period. The effectiveness of the formulation is given through an appropriaternnumerical application to schedule flights on Rhodes island which it's one of the mostrnattractive tourist destination in Greece. The modelling approach has a suitable andrnmanageable structure and the numerical application is used to solve a hypotheticalrnscenario.
