摘要

We believe that this novel gene has a potential role in IRR, and although the increase in cellular resistance after transfection with antisense DIRl oligonucleotides was not dramatic, it would represent a major difference in response to a typical 30-fraction course of radiotherapy using 2 Gy/fraction. Furthermore, there is good reason to believe that the effects would be proportionately greater at lower doses where a more sensitive assay system will be necessary to assess survival. Computerised microscopic image processing could reveal whether or not transfection with antisense DIR1 reduces HRS in these cells.
