摘要

In this study, tannin was reacted with Ba(OH)_2 to synthesis Barium-tannin chelating complex(Ba-tan.ch.) derivative that was evaluated as thermal stabilizer for Poly Vinyl chloride (PVC); Ba-tan.ch. was mixed with PVC thermally at four percentage (0.5 , 1.0 , 2.0 , and 2.5 ) % W/W ,then the samples were pressed thermally to from films with thickness varied between (0.25-0.30) mm, the effect of Ba-tan. chelate was studied by FTIR method and by monitoring the weight of samples under Iso-thermal conditions at 250° C . FTIR spectrums and thermograms of monitoring samples weight indicate to action of this additive with suitable activity to increase the resistance of PVC against thermal degradation where the ability of Ba-tan.ch. for reacting with and remove HC1 from the system of polymer during thermal condition of samples process and measurement lead to this action .
