The achievement and role of the International Society in the past and future

摘要

My aim with this lecture is to present my thoughts of what the International Society has achieved to date and what it might go over to achieve in the future. At the beginning, I would like to present a brief review regarding development of our society, and then introduce the recent activities taking place especially in the Technical Committees in our Society. Then I will go on to raise some questions and problems we are facing. At the end, I will address my own views with respect to the future well being of our Society in the next century.
