摘要

Morphology control of latex particles in the process of emulsion polymerization is very important and very difficult since the particle morphology is influenced by thermodynamic and kinetic factors. The particle morphology may be vary greatly even if in the seeded emulsion polymerization process, which is often considered as the best process to synthesis core/shell latex particles. The thermodynamic requisites for the formation of core/shell latex particle consisting of polymer 1 and polymer 2 in seeded emulsion polymerization have been derived in our previous studies. In this paper, the interfaciai tensions between the two of polyacrylate, polysiloxane and water phases were first gained with different methods, then different core/shell latex particle morphologies were predicted based on the results of thermodynamic analysis.
