This presentation will outline the complex maize of regulations that can affect the selection, operation,rnmaintenance and permitting of cleaning and rinsing processes and chemistry. The inter-relationships of local, state and federalrnregulations will be presented. Some examples of how to analyze and integrate the regulatory requirements with proposed processrnmodifications or entire systems replacements will be included.rnThe latest updates on the new EPA MP&M waste water rule (currently still being written by EPA at press time but due to bernpublished in February) as well as EPA's latest developments in promoting Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and thernuse of innovative technologies as an alternative to current regulation based emission limits will also be covered.
