The Junggar Basin is a typical super-composed basin with a rather complicated structure.The presenttectonic pattern of the basin is the product of long-term development and evolution of the basin,and the mainevidences for oil and gas exploration and their prospect evaluation.The research on the tectonic pattern of theJunggar Basin mainly deals with two questions:the basement structure and the basement property.Zhao (1992)thought that the basement is composed of two layers.The upper layer is composed of Paleozoic erathem,and the lower layer is composed of crystalline blocks of Precambrian.Kuang (1993) proposed that the basement of the Junggar Basin is composed of two terrains.
