The Al-Li alloy has low density, high specific strength, and low fatigue-crack growth rates, which are exceedingly suitable for aerospace applications .As an age-hardenable Al alloy with active Li in major precipitation, it is significant to study and manipulate the electrochemical properties and corrosion feature. The intergranular corrosion (IGC) behaviors and open circuit potentials (OCP) of an Al-Li alloy (1460 alloy) were investigated as a function of T6 tempers. The evolution of intergranular microstructures in the alloy influenced local potentials, which were contacted to the corrosion morphologies of the aged alloy.
