Nanostructured composite materials often play an important role in the fundamental and applied research in number of areas, particularly, those aiming to develop the basic science needed for integarting biological materials into nonbiological nanoarchitectures. Modifying the electrode surface withnanomaterials usually allows effcient electron-transfer between the matrix electrode and molecules withthe biological importance, for example redox proteins(enzymes),and is helpful in understanding the redoxproperties of proteins(enzymes),and more importantly,in developing biosensors and the related apparatus. This work reports the electropolymerization of rile blue A(Nb),which is a phenothiazine dye,on thesurface of single-walled carbon nanotubes(SWNTs)and the fabrication of the SWNTs/poly(nile blue A)(denoted as PNb-SWNTs)nanocomposites.
