Background: Prior studies have shown that PI3K/Akt pathway plays a necessary role in plaelete activation and arterial thrombus formation, No studies yet have explored the role of PI3K or Akt in venous thrombosis. In our study, the role of Akt2, one isoform of Akt, was investigated using mice model of venous thrombosis.
