Recent techniques and strategies for improvemet of senile cashew plantations

In India, over sixty percent of the planted area is covered under senile plantations with age of the crop exceeding twenty years which contributes only 30 per cent of the total yield in the country. If these senile plantations are improved through latest agrotechniques, the yield can be increased to two folds which itself contributes the major share of the total yield in the country (60 %). This can be achievd within short span of five years. Otherwise this may take another ten years to achieve the target from newly planted cashew grafts (every year 50-60 lakh grafts of high yielding varieties go to the field).
