Mackay rescue 6: WOODY MARINE RELEASES LATEST 8.5M RESCUE VESSEL

Woody Marine has recently launched its latest rescue vessel for the Volunteer Marine Rescue organisation, the 'Mackay Rescue 6'.Slotting between two of the organisation's existing fleet, a six-metre centre console vessel and a 12-metre Steber vessel, respectively, the vessel will be used as a fast response vessel in shallow and deep-water operations.Designed by Woody's Stephen Plummer in Brisbane, the vessel measures 8.5 metres in length overall, with a beam of 3.0 metres and a draught of 0.52 metres. According to Mr Plummer, the vessel design was based on a successful 8.3-metre fisheries patrol vessel supplied to Victoria last year.
