'QGC Rescue III'— Gladstone rescue RIB from Woody Marine Fabrications

In January, Gladstone Volunteer Marine Rescue (VMR) took delivery of 'QGC Rescue III', a new WMF7.3 hardtop rescue RIB built by Woody Marine Fabrications (WMF). The initial contract specified a soft-top cuddy cabin arrangement, but mid-build the VMR committee decided to upgrade their requirements and proceed with a hardtop cabin. With all of Woody's boats designed in-house, this transition occurred without any disruption to the build and allowed the project to continue in accordance with the new wishes of the client. Activity in Gladstone is growing with the booming gas industry, which is investing heavily in the local community. The harbour traffic, both commercially and recreationally, has increased significantly, with more growth in the future. The new vessel with its quick-response capabilities will play an important role in helping to keep the harbour and surrounding waters safe and monitored.
