To provide a display device that can easily achieve high definition, to provide a display device that combines high display quality and high definition, and to provide a high-contrast display device.SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing a display device includes the following steps of: forming a first EL film in contact with a top face and a lateral face of a first pixel electrode and a second pixel electrode having a taper shape; covering the first EL film to form a first sacrificial film; etching the first sacrificial film and the first EL film to expose the second pixel electrode and form a first EL layer on the first pixel electrode and a first sacrificial layer on the first EL layer; and removing the first sacrificial layer. The first and second EL films are etched by dry etching. The first sacrificial layer is removed by wet etching.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
