Various embodiments include a method of densifying a melt-penetrated ceramic matrix composite (CMC) article, and a densified melt-penetrated CMC article formed thereby. Certain embodiments include the step of supplying a porous CMC preform into the first region of the casting apparatus and within the pressure head region of the second region of the casting apparatus operably connected to the first region. By applying a first pressure to the molten densifying agent in a pressure head, the molten densifying agent is made porous CMC.
