Provided are: a multiplex communication network connection wireless communication device for a straddled vehicle, said device being such that the characteristics of the straddled vehicle are taken into consideration and the range of utilization of a multiplex communication network provided in the straddled vehicle can be expanded, and the device also being connected to the multiplex communication network and being provided with a wireless communication function; and a straddled vehicle. (1) A communication circuit acquires, through a coupler for communication, vehicle-internal data outputted from a drive source control device to the communication network for the straddled vehicle, and outputs the vehicle-internal data to an external device through the wireless communication device. (2) The communication circuit acquires, through the wireless communication device, vehicle-external data that can be acquired by equipment connected to the multiplex communication network for the straddled vehicle, and outputs the vehicle-external data to the communication network for the straddled vehicle through a coupler for communication via a malfunction diagnosis route.
