To provide a method for manufacturing a fabric for a mask and protective clothing, which has high ventilation performance and which is difficult to lose effectiveness even after washing, low in cost, and highly antiviral, and a mask and protective clothing made of the fabric manufactured by the method.SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a copper-carrying fabric includes at least an A step, a B step, and a C step in this order. In the A step, an unwoven or woven fabric is hydrophilized when necessary. In the B step, the hydrophilized unwoven or woven fabric is impregnated with a copper (II) complex aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol. In the C step, a copper (II) complex aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol applied on the fiber surface of the unwoven or woven fabric is reduced by means of at least one of ultraviolet irradiation and heating to generate metal copper, and the polyvinyl alcohol is made insoluble in water.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
