METHOD FOR OFFLOADING DISK SCAN OPERATION TO GPU IN WRITE-OPTIMIZED DATABASE

The present embodiments provide a method and apparatus for a scan operation in a database, which: use a GPU to read a file in an LSM-tree and parallelize a filter condition comparison operation; pipeline query processing and a disk scan; and use direct memory access (DMA) to load, into a GPU memory, the file within the LSM-tree, and to access the file by a GPU thread so as to perform a filter operation and return the result thereof, thereby improving scan performance.
