PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microbe-holding carrier that prevents a microbe-holding carrier portion from coming off, and can be produced at low cost and a method for producing the same.;SOLUTION: A microbe-holding carrier 100 has: a carbon fiber-containing thread 110 that includes a trunk line 111, a plurality of loops 112 in communication with the trunk line 111, and a plurality of knots 113 that are in communication with the trunk line 111 and the loops 112 and fix the positions of the loops 112 relative to the trunk line 111; and a covering sheet 120 to cover the trunk line 111 and the knots 113.
