PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microbe-holding carrier that prevents a microbe-holding carrier portion from coming off, and can be produced at low cost and a method for producing the same.;SOLUTION: The microbe-holding carrier has a plurality of threads containing carbon fibers, and a covering sheet to cover each portion of the threads. At the portions covered by the covering sheet, the threads are arranged along the substantially one direction. Edges of the covering sheet corresponding to a border between the portions of the threads covered by the covering sheet and the portions not covered by the covering sheet are folded back together with the threads.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
