The present invention relates to a composition for enhancing immunity comprising ppGpp (Guanosine 5'-diphosphate 3'-diphosphate) deficient mutant enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC). The ppGpp-deficient mutant enteropathogenic Escherichia coli according to the present invention significantly increased the expression of IL-6 and MCP-1 mRNA and protein compared to other strains lacking the same ppGpp gene, and could be eliminated faster than the wild-type strain in the infected host body. Therefore, it can be usefully used as a composition for enhancing immunity based on its IL-6 and MCP-1 expression increasing effect.
