Embodiments of the present invention provide a method of managing task offloading to edge servers in a multi-access edge computing, MEC, system (100). In order to provide a faster admission scheme, in particular for low-latency applications that require to offload delay-sensitive tasks in a repetitive fashion, the method comprises: receiving, by a task broker (126) implemented at a host management level (124) of the MEC system (100), a task offloading request from a UE application (120); analyzing, by the task broker (126), the resource requirements of the task of the task offloading request and running a forecasting mechanism that determines whether the task offloading request will eventually be dropped or not by the system management level of the MEC system (100); and by the task broker (126), based on the determination of the forecasting mechanism, either rejecting or provisionally admitting the task offloading request.
