Disclosed is a method for verifying a relaxation effect of a muscarinic receptor antagonist on a ciliary smooth muscle by measuring a change in the thickness of the lens of a non-human primate (monkey) using an A-scan ultrasound technique. The method can be used to measure effects of different concentrations of a drug under test on lens thickness, understand a dose-efficacy relationship between the drug under test and lens thickness, infer an effect of the drug on refractive accommodation, measure an effective dose, and quickly and effectively guide preclinical development of new drugs for the prevention and treatment of juvenile myopia. The method of the present invention is simple and technically stable, and has good repeatability, and does not cause tissue trauma in animals or damage to whole-body health. Experimental data obtained from monkeys (animals most similar to humans) has significant value for guiding clinical trials compared to other animals, thereby providing important translational medical information for the development of innovative drugs.
