The present invention provides a method for treating or preventing diseases caused by the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, comprising administering to a subject in need thereof an antibody or antigen binding fragment that binds to an S protein of the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, or administering a pharmaceutical composition containing the antibody or antigen binding fragment, to block cytopathies caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus or neutralize the SARS-CoV-2 virus so as to achieve treatment or prevention effects on the subject.
