This method for producing a molded body comprises: a step for forming a sheet-like microfibrillated cellulose-containing composition by filtering a dispersion liquid so that the moisture content is from 65% by mass to 85% by mass; a step (S21) for preparing a plurality of sheets of the microfibrillated cellulose-containing composition; a step (S22) for stacking the plurality of sheets of the microfibrillated cellulose-containing composition in the thickness direction; a step (S23) for sandwiching the stacked sheets of the microfibrillated cellulose-containing composition between nonwoven fabrics which are arranged on both sides in the thickness direction; and a step (S24) for molding a plate-like molded body under heat and pressure by heating the plurality of sheets of the microfibrillated cellulose-containing composition sandwiched between the nonwoven fabrics, while applying a pressure of from 0.1 MPa to 4.0 MPa thereto in the thickness direction.
