It is an object of the present invention to provide a predictive marker useful for carcinogenic surveillance after hepatitis C virus elimination. A predictive marker consisting of a single nucleotide polymorphism identified by rs17047200 is provided. About the nucleic acid sample collected from the subject, the single nucleotide polymorphism is detected, and the risk of developing hepatocellular carcinoma after hepatitis C virus exclusion is examined.
