To allow ammonia to be used as fuel while restraining a change in a structure or design of an existing boiler.SOLUTION: A multi-fuel fired boiler 2 for carbon-containing fuel and ammonia fuel comprises a furnace 20 including a furnace wall 20a comprising an opening part, a burner unit 30 attached to the opening part of the furnace wall 20a, and an additional air supply part 33 provided downstream of the burner unit 30 in a flow direction of combustion gas in the furnace 20. The burner unit 30 comprises at least one first burner 31 constituted so as to burn the carbon-containing fuel, and an ammonia fuel supply port for supplying the ammonia fuel into the furnace 20.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
