A new potentiometer, and a high-precision micro steering engine capable of improving the positioning of an electric motor, which relate to the field of steering engines. The high-precision micro steering engine is miniaturized by means of the creative design of an improved electric motor assembly, a Hall element (63), a magnet (621), etc. The magnet (621) is moved in a linear direction above the Hall element (63) by means of a cam (61), a pulling magnet seat (62), a flexible spring (625), the Hall element (63), etc., to form the potentiometer for inspection. Compared with a conventional potentiometer, the potentiometer has a prolonged service life, low costs and is easier to process; an electric motor component (3) is directly assembled on a housing (1), such that both the cost and space are saved on, and the problem of the difficulty in mounting and positioning a micro electric motor is solved; an electric motor brush sheet (31) and the Hall element (63) are directly processed on a PCBA circuit board (4), such that the problems of the difficulty and cost control of conventional processing technology are solved; meanwhile, a clutch (52) is additionally provided in a speed reduction device (5), such that a gear is protected from being damaged by an instantaneous impact; in addition, the functions of protection against a current overload and learning repeated positioning are provided in a software system.
