Method for integrating a lidar system into a vehicle includes arranging one or more receiving portions of the lidar system at one or more first locations of the vehicle and producing an integrated transmitting portion of the lidar system to be arranged at a second location of the vehicle. The manufacturing includes the injection molding of optical components to light emitting devices attached to a printed circuit board to form a transmission portion, and the overmolding of one or more additional elements to the transmission portion. Overmolding involves carrying out one or more additional injection molding processes.
