Implantable cardioverter defibrillator (1), in particular subcutaneously implantable cardioverter defibrillator, having:a shock generating device (7) for generating an electric shock in a patient's heart (2),an electrical detection device (9) for detecting electrocardiogram data based on a measurement of electrical potentials in the patient's heart; andan optical detection device (21) for detecting hemodynamic data in the patient's blood supply tissue by measuring optical properties within the patient's body in an environment of the implanted cardioverter defibrillator;a control device (11) for controlling the shock generating device taking into account both electrocardiogram data detected by means of the electrical detection device and hemodynamic data detected by means of the optical detection device.
