Disclosed are a composite separator, a lithium battery including the same, and a method for manufacturing the composite separator. The composite separator may include: a porous substrate having a ratio (a/b) of 1.2 to 2.2 of the number of pores (a) of 500 nm or less on the first surface and the number of pores (b) of 500 nm or less on the second surface; and a porous coating layer disposed on at least one surface of the porous substrate, wherein the porous coating layer may include inorganic particles.
