The purpose of the invention is to improve the healing of diabetic foot ulcers, offering an alternative prophylaxis and treatment option using environmental factors, such as light and temperature, without exposure per se to the environment, keeping the wounds dry, with a shorter healing time with respect to the usual protocol for treating this type of complication. The invention eliminates the need to cover the wound with a dressing or other material, allowing it to remain dry. In view of the above, the invention has a direct positive impact on the economies of developing countries, since it reduces the need for patients to visit public health centres, reduces hospitalisation times for those with severe complications and, consequently, reduces hospital expenditure. The objectives to be achieved are: to reduce the rate of complications and admission, healing time and treatment costs; to increase the level of satisfaction among patients, relatives and carers; and to improve quality of life.
