An installation for evaluating the low-temperature properties of greases for heavy-loaded sliding friction units is proposed, containing a refrigerating chamber, inside which a test horizontal shaft passing through the chamber wall and connected outside the chamber through a gearbox with an electric motor shaft, a friction working unit in the form of a load ring connected by studs with a load disk mounted by means of a bearing on the test shaft, to the outside of which a strain gauge sensor of the friction working unit is connected by a flexible rod, connected to the input of the software control unit connected to the temperature sensor in the refrigerator. The installation additionally contains a temperature sensor of the working friction unit connected to the corresponding input of the software control unit, and the test shaft inside the refrigerator is made collapsible of three stages, each of which is an individual section with a coaxial internal groove for the temperature sensor.
