A traction battery device (1) for an at least partially electrically driven motor vehicle comprises: a traction battery (11) with a battery housing (2) for accommodating a battery module (21) and/or battery cells (31); a fire extinguishing device 3 for automatically carrying out the fire extinguishing process in a fire extinguishing situation. The extinguishing agent 13 can be introduced into the battery housing 2 via the supply device 4 using the extinguishing device 3 . In this context, the extinguishing device 3 has an extinguishing agent generating device 5 which, in a controlled extinguishing situation, produces at least two spatially separated extinguishing agent components 23 . Suitable and designed for this purpose, combining and mixing in such a way as to form an extinguishing agent 13 having an extinguishing function, said extinguishing agent can be introduced into the battery housing 2 via a supply device 4 .
