A head for an oral care appliance includes a plurality of colored filaments of different types. The filaments extend from the mounting surface of the head and are grouped together to define an initial color pattern. the at least two types of filaments have parallax time-controlled color changing properties, each of the types of filaments changing their color within a predefined period of time, the predefined periods being different from each other, such that the initial color pattern exhibits at least a second color characteristic change to a first color pattern over one predefined time period and to a second color pattern over a subsequent second predefined time period, wherein the second pattern is different from the first pattern.
