Disclosed are a system for detecting a breakage mechanism of a hybrid composite structure based on an acoustic emission sensor and an artificial intelligence algorithm, and a method therefor. A breakage mechanism detection method of a hybrid composite material structure performed by a breakage mechanism detection system according to an embodiment includes: detecting signal information emitted from the hybrid composite material structure; performing clustering according to the identified breakage mechanism using the detected signal information; inputting new signal information into the learned learning model to classify the breakage mechanism using the signal information of the cluster generated by performing the clustering; and detecting a breakage mechanism of the hybrid composite material structure from the new signal information using the learned deep learning-based learning model.
