PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sample tube for a polymerase chain reaction. A sample tube is a sample tube body having an annular side wall and a bottom wall connected to the annular side wall, wherein the annular side wall and the bottom wall contain the reaction mixture. A sample tube body forming a space and a first extension member extending from the bottom wall to the accommodation space, where the reaction mixture is the first extension member for carrying out PCR. The light from the light source thereby includes a first extension member that sequentially enters the reaction mixture through the bottom and bottom wall of the sample tube and the first extension member.
