In some embodiments, the system includes a cartridge section and a pen section. The cartridge portion includes a mouthpiece portion and a bracket cartridge portion. The mouthpiece portion includes a mouthpiece component defining a mouthpiece opening and an outer housing defining a steam outlet and including a recessed side wall portion. The pen portion includes a pen housing and a bracket portion, and the bracket portion bracket portion increases the temperature of the coil at the core of the cartridge portion so that the carrier material arranged near the coil can be vaporized by the coil. It is configured to engage the bracket cartridge portion of the cartridge portion so that it can be used. When the cartridge portion engages with the pen housing, the recessed side wall portion of the outer housing and the inner surface of the pen housing form a fluid path from the steam outlet to the mouthpiece opening.
