Metal nitrate-based composition for use as a phase transition material

In the present specification, metal nitrate hydrate as a phase transition material (PCM) is disclosed. More specifically, the present specification discloses a metal nitrate hydrate PCM containing a group 2 metal nitrate as a nucleating agent. Further disclosure herein is a combination of multiple chemical seeds in a PCM preparation that works together to induce nucleation of the metal nitrate PCM. Further disclosed are physical mechanisms that increase the nucleation and crystallization rates of metal nitrate hydrate-based PCMs.
