The signal strength measurement method comprises: acquiring a station (STA) identification field of an STA that accesses an access point (AP); searching for a signal strength algorithm associated with the STA identification field; if an associated signal strength algorithm is not found, considering that the STA accesses the AP for the first time; at this time, traversing and calculating a plurality of preset signal strength algorithms to match a signal strength algorithm applicable to the STA that performs access for the first time; and associating a matched first signal strength algorithm with the STA, so that the first signal strength algorithm can be directly called to calculate an RSSI of the STA during a roaming process of the STA in the current wireless local area network.
