The present disclosure relates to a 5G or pre-5G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate than a 4G communication system such as LTE. A method according to an embodiment of the present disclosure relates to a control method in an edge enabler server (EES) of a mobile edge computing system, and the method may comprise the steps of: subscribing to a user plane path change event in an edge application server (EAS); when the user plane path event is subscribed in the EAS, determining application context relocation (ACR) on the basis of reception of a user plane path management event notification from the mobile communication network; transmitting an ACR request message to the EAS; receiving an EAS acknowledgment message from the EAS; and transmitting an application function (AF) acknowledgment message to a first node of the mobile communication network in response to reception of the EAS acknowledgment message from the EAS.
