This invention relates to a security arrangement (A) for a load carrying assembly (5), comprising a carrier plate (1) and an attachment plate (2), wherein said plates (1,2) are arranged with interconnected guiding members (11/12, 20/21), arranged to enable relative movement of said carrier plate (1) in a longitudinal direction (C) of said roof rack assembly (A), said carrier plate (1) further comprising at least one first attachment device (10) arranged to enable attachment of the security arrangement to a roof box or a similar device for a vehicle, said attachment plate (2) comprising at least one second attachment device (22) arranged to enable attachment of the security arrangement (A) to a roof rack assembly (5), wherein an energy absorbing member (3) is arranged between said two plates (1, 2) and attached to said two plates (1, 2) by means of first and second attachment members (30, 31) arranged to enable predetermined maximal prolonged relative movement (AL) between said carrier plate (1) and said attachment plate (2) in said longitudinal direction (C) upon simultaneous absorption of energy to minimize the risk of hazard in connection with a vehicle suddenly decelerating, e.g. crashing, that carries a load on the roof rack, e.g. a roof box.
